Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity [love], I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1
Words and pretty speech are just noise unless they are spoken in (agape) love. It is possible to scream without saying a word—it is possible to be both a gong and a cymbal at the same time. It is also possible to speak with eloquence and say nothing because nothing we do or say is meaningful without the exercise of love.
